The Eye of the Storm by Sean Sutton – Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines on 8 November 2013 killing more than 6,000 people. Haiyan, known locally as Yolanda, had sustained winds of 315kph, making it the strongest typhoon ever to reach landfall. Much of the city of Tacloban on Leyte Island was directly in the path of the storm and was completely devas- tated by the intense winds and a storm surge between five and eight meters high. Many thousands lost their homes and were displaced. What was left was an apocalyptic landscape, testament to the awesome power of nature.
