Through the Ages – Christmastime in New York City

A 65-foot Norway Spruce, the 27th annual Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, is lowered into place at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, November 29, 1960. The tree, which came from Harford, Pa., and weighs about two-and-a-half tons, will be lit December 8. In the foreground is the statue of Prometheus overlooking the ice skating rink.
