The stricken vessel “Hoegh Osaka” lies trapped on her side on the Brambles Sand Bank between Calshot Bay and Cowes on The Isle of Wight, Britain, 05 January 2015. A high tide on 04 January was not enough to shift the fully loaded car transporter that was deliberately run aground when it developed a list shortly after leaving the south of England port of Southampton. The “Hoegh Osaka” was intentionally steered onto the sand bank off the Isle of Wight on 03 January for fear that it was about to capsize, a company official said.
