South Korean people fly yellow balloons for Sewol ferry sinking victims to mark the one year anniversary since the disaster, at Jindo-port, on Jindo Island, in the southwestern province of South Jeolla, South Korea, 16 April 2015. The Sewol ferry sank on 16 April 2014 off the coast of South Korea while carrying 476 people on board. Many of the dead were students on an excursion aboard the overloaded vessel. Of the 476 on board, just 172 survived, including senior crew members who were among the first to leave the stricken ferry. Nine people were declared missing. The tragedy is blamed on human error. In November 2014, the Sewol's captain, Lee Joon Seuk, was sentenced to 36 years in prison for abandoning the passengers. (Photo by Jeon Heon-Kyun/EPA)
