South Africans break the Guinness World record for the World's Largest Blanket at the Union Buildings on April 21, 2015 in Pretoria, South Africa. The handmade blanket was created by thousands of people across the globe who each knitted small portions. The idea for the blanket came in 2013 when Nelson Mandela's assistant, Zelda La Grange, who gave the organiser' Carolyn Steyn' a challenge to knit 67 blankets for Mandela Day. This blanket measured over 3000 meters squared. The blankets will be distributed to the needy on Mandela Day. (Photo by Greatstock/Barcroft Media)
