The Day in Photos – July 18, 2015

In this March 23, 1987 file photo, the body of a Libyan tank driver lies partly buried in the sands of the Sahara Desert, near Quadi-Doum, northern Chad. In the background are two Soviet-made T-55 tanks, abandoned after the forces of Chad's President Hissene Habre overran Libyan forces. Monday, July 20, 2015, Habre will go on trial in Senegal, fulfilling the work of many who say they suffered abuse under his rule. For more than a decade after his overthrow Habre lived freely in Senegal. His easy exile was a symbol of impunity in Africa, living in luxury under house arrest in 2005 until his arrest in 2013. Now his trial is a warning to other African dictators that they may be held accountable in Africa for their actions, say human rights experts. (Photo by Laurent Rebours/AP Photo)
