A group of Brazilian researchers discovered a new species of tiny toad, which is characterized by measuring just over a centimeter and considered threatened by extinction and whose habitat is confined to a mountainous region in the southern state. Brachycephalus quiriri was discovered by the Parana Federal University (UFPR) in the Quiriri hill, Santa Catarina, said the Grupo Boticario Foundation, which sponsored the study.
