A handout photo dated 29 September 2015 and provided on 23 November 2015 by the San Diego Zoo Safari Park shows Nola, a 41 year-old female northern white rhino that had to be euthanized on 22 November 2015 after her condition deteriorated following surgery to drain a hip abscess on on 13 November, in San Diego, California, USA. Nola was one of four remaining northern white rhinos left on the planet. The species has fallen prey to poachers who prize their horns. The remaining three of the species, a 43-year-old male, Sudan, and two females, 26-year-old Najin and 15-year-old Fatu, are living under human care at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya.
