Lunar New Year

Folk artist Zhao Yongqi paints a monkey mask at his studio, in Beijing, China, January 29, 2016. With the arrival of this year's new Chinese zodiac animal, however, Zhao has been painting more of his favourite subject matter--monkey masks. Originally from a poor mountain village in nearby Hebei province, Zhao migrated to Beijing for work in the 1980s where he began training under an uncle who specialises in Peking Opera makeup. It was then that he discovered his passion for painting monkey masks. (Photo by Jason Lee/Reuters)
