Women process and dry red chili pepper under sun near Jamuna river, 240 kms north-west of Dhaka in Gaibandha, Bangladesh on February 23, 2016. Everyday they earn less than USD $1 (Taka. 70) after work 10 hours a day. Gaibandha area in Bangladesh which is affected by flood throughout the monsoon season each year. The char areas have some of the highest levels of poverty in the country. Red chili is the main source of income in the area and mostly women are engaged in its production and processing along with their regular unpaid care work.
