Since Roman times many inland and foreign visitors have come to enjoy the benefits of the curative properties of the country’s abundant mineral-rich natural hydrothermal waters that upstream from the ground from a network of geothermal reserves present in the Carpathian Basin. March 22 was declared World Water Day by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to help focus attention on the importance of water on the globe and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Each year, there is an annual theme that concentrates on a different issue.
