Kemachart has a complex design drawn on his face at Wat Supan Rangsri on April 05, 2016 in Mae Sariang, Thailand. Han, 10, and Kemachart, 11, are neighbors in Chiang Mai's ethnic Tai Yai (Shan) community who have travelled to Mae Sariang near the Burmese border for the Poy Sang Long ordination ceremony where their family roots and traditional culture remain strong. Poy Sang Long is a Buddhist novice ordination ceremony of the Shan people or Tai Yai, an ethnic group of Shan State in Myanmar and northern Thailand. Young boys aged between 7 and 14 are ordained as novices to learn the Buddhist doctrines. (Photo by Taylor Weidman/Getty Images)
