Ruby, a two-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, has a micro-chip implanted by Vet Amy Jennett at the PDSA Pet Hospital on April 4, 2016 in Wolverhampton, England. From 6th April 2016 it will become law, in the UK, that all dogs should be microchipped and recorded in the National Canine Database. Many owners are unaware of the new legislation and it is estimated that more than 1 million dogs have still not been micro-chipped leaving owners facing fines.
