A group of wood workers and artisan furniture makers have created a carpentry community within the city's oldest and largest slum, recycling white pine wood shipping pallets into re-saleable wood, and creating sought after wood furniture products. But change is coming. Nailed onto wooden shacks along the line the furniture workers call home, tattered court ordered eviction notices are blowing in the wind. The community here is trespassing, according to the Bangkok Port Authority, who want the land back for road expansion as it leads to the major port Klong Toey port facility and entry gates.
