“Paparazzi Dogs” art installation, New York, NY on June 9, 2016. DUMBO in Brooklyn, NY, is home to many A-list celebrities like Anne Hathaway and her husband. So, it is fitting that a husband and wife artist team have created this art installation right in the heart of this celebrity neighborhood. The exhibit has been installed beneath the Manhattan Bridge in the Pearl Street Triangle. With all the upscale stores and restaurants, it is a wonder that there are not more than a handful of NY paparazzi roaming its streets. Celebrities love to hide from the paparazzi when they can. The “Paparazzi Dogs” exhibit is probably the only time a celebrity doesn't mind seeing someone pointing a camera. Gillie and Marc Schattner are Australian contemporary artists who love to create artwork of hybrid characters combining animals with human bodies. One of their favorite characters is called, “Dogman” which is the character for this installation. With “Paparazzi Dogs” the number of celebrity photographers on the prowl has increased by three. But, the celebrities residing in DUMBO don't seem to mind this artistic creation. (Photo by Ken Katz/Startraksphoto.com)
