The Philippine Astronomical Geophysical Services Administration (PAGASA) state weather bureau announced on 04 July that Tropical storm Nepartak was estimated to be located at 1,995 km east of the Visayas islands, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, with wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
