A Kingfisher perches on a branch in Hampstead Heath Birding Pond on July 20, 2016 in London, England. The City of London Corporation built an artificial bank out of a sand cement mix to encourage Kingfisher breeding at the Hampstead Heath beauty spot, which attracts over 7 million visits a year. Kingfishers do not tolerate other Kingfishers as neighbours and there is only pair on the Heath. Adrian Brooker, ecologist for the City of London Corporation, said: “To have a breeding pair of Kingfishers so close to the centre of London is very special. It shows we can successfully foster a thriving and diverse ecology in a popular site just four miles from Trafalgar Square”. (Photo by Carl Court/Getty Images)
