An Indigenous woman is reacts after coming in contact with tear gas during a protest at a signing ceremony for the reactivation of a hydroelectric project in Llano Tuguri, Ngabe Bugle, Panama, 22 August 2016. Indigenous groups, protesting against the hydroelectric project, threw stones at the school were the signing ceremony took place, injuring four policemen. The groups refused to let President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, leave the school until he signed an agreement with the leaders of the Ngabe Bugle region. The project will continue but will be operated by a third independent party and not the company that built it, according to an agreement signed on the same day between the Panamanian government and five leaders of the Ngabe Bugle region.
