Ganesh Chaturthi Festival 2016

Indian devotees immerse idol of the elephant-headed Hindu god Lord Ganesha in an artificial pond as part of a ritual on second day of the Ganpati festival, in Mumbai, India, 06 September 2016. The idol is meant for the festival Ganesha Chaturthi, a ten-day long event which is celebrated all over India. During the Ganpati festival, that is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesh, idols of the Hindu deity are worshipped at hundreds of pandals or makeshift tents before they are immersed into water bodies.
