Visitors stand near a former communist-era East German guard tower that has been decorated with an oversized Christmas cap on December 2, 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The museum owner that maintains the tower reportedly intended the cap as a bit of Christmas humour, though not all Berliners think it's funny and charge the move trivializes the deadly history of the Berlin Wall. The guard tower stands on the original spot near Potsdamer Platz where it stood overlooking the Berlin Wall that divded the city between capitalist west and communist east. At least 150 people were killed by East German border guards while trying to flee to the West during the wall's 28-year history. (Photo by Sean Gallup/Getty Images)
