Nuns and pilgrims descend into the “Grotto” in the Church of the Nativity, marking the believed location of the birth of Jesus Christ, in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, 22 December 2016. Christians are preparing to celebrate one of their highest religeous holiday Christmas on 25 December and on its eve, on which Christian faithful believed Jesus Christ was born in a stable cave in Bethlehem. The site is marked by the Church of the Nativity, which is administered jointly by Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Armenian Apostolic and Syriac orthodox church.
