The Day in Photos – July 19, 2017

A handout photo made available by Glacier 3000, showing the weathered garments, hiking boots and other items found alongside the bodies of two people believed to be Marcelin and Francine Dumoulin, on the Tsanfleuron glacier in the area of the Glacier 3000 above Les Diablerets VD on 13 July 2017 (issued 18 July 2017). The couple disappeared after going to tend to their cows in the Alps in 1942. The bodies are clad in clothing dating from around World War Two and are believed to have been buried in ice for 70 to 80 years. A DNA test has yet to be carried out on the bones.
