Two earthquake-related fatalities were reported on the island of Kos in the early morning hours of 21 July 2017, while several others were injured from a 6.7 magnitude earthquake that shook the island and much of the southeast Aegean region and southwestern Turkey. A 39-year-old Turk and a 27-year-old Swede are reportedly dead, according to sources. Five persons who have been seriously injured were transferred to the Heraklion University Hospital in Crete.
