A man (C-R), costumed as the Christian Captain, and a woman in the role of “his favorite lover” (C-L) take part in a parade as part of the traditional “Moors and Christians” Festival in Alcoy, Alicante, eastern Spain, 22 April 2018. The festival, dated back to 1672, attracts some 12,000 people who attend, from 22 to 24 April, the re-enactment of the battle between Christian soldiers of Alcoy against Saracen troops of Moorish leader Al-Azraq on 23 April 1276. According to the tradition, in the most bloody moment of the fight St. George appeared on the site to help the Christian soldiers. (Photo by Morell/EPA/EFE)
