Optical Illusion Art

Spiderman Saves the Day is displayed in February 2011 at Universal Studios, Japan. This stereoscopic image of the famous Marvel comic character saves the guests from falling into the imaginary depth of a 3D pavement composition using Colorcode 3D glasses. A stunning new book takes readers into the world of master street artist Kurt Wenner. Bringing pavements around the world to life, Kurt, 52, uses a clever technique in his street drawings that make them look perfectly 3D. When viewed from the correct angle, street-goers standing on top of them look like they are floating in thin air and solid concrete appear as gaping chasms in a colourful illusion. Pioneer Kurt, from the USA, has been perfecting his unique art since 1982 when he began sketching on the streets of Rome. His wizardry with the world's streets has now been brought together in new book Asphalt Renaissance, by Sterling Innovation publishers, available now through Amazon.
