Thousands of believers across the country are gathering at Taungbyone village, about 15 kilometers north of Mandalay city, to celebrate annual Nats (spirits) festival which will be held from 19 to 26 August 2018. Every year in August, for the eight days prior to the full moon, the Taungbyon Nats festival is held to honor the two brothers, locally known as Min Gyi and Min Lay executed in the eleventh century, and is attracting spirit worshippers from throughout the country as well as tourists from the world.
