The Day in Photos – October 12, 2018

On the grounds of the historic Palace House in Beaulieu, museum engineers Mitch Caws and Emily Leese buff up the shine on the reconstruction Chitty which will be on display at the National Motor Museum Beaulieu this October. The National Motor Museum Beaulieu is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the classic film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this October. The exhibition marking the golden half century of the family favourite film will feature props and costumes on display as well as recreations of some well known scenes. Visitors to the museum in Hampshire will be able to see various Chitty memorabilia including comics, computer games, pedal cars and lunch boxes, as well as never before seen original concept artwork and technical drawings. One of the six original Chittys built for the film will be on display at the museum and some lucky visitors may even be able to experience a ride in a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang reconstruction which will be driven around the attraction. The exhibition will open on October 20th. (Photo by Morten Watkins/Solent News & Photo Agency)
