Ecology in action winner. The Tables Have Turned, photographed in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. This image shows an African wild dog pup playing with a tranquiliser dart. After ecologists anaesthetised an adult in a pack, one of the pups spotted the dart and kept hold of it, seemingly proud of its new toy.
