Ukrainian specialists cut the last strategic Tupolev Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber at an airbase outside the Ukrainian city of Poltava 330 km (198 miles) southeast of the capital Kiev, January 27, 2006. After the collapse of the Soviet Union Ukraine inherited 60 Tu-22 bombers and 423 X-22 cruise missiles.
