The Reverend Stuart Elliott blesses the new fire as part of his Service of New Light for Easter Eve on the shore of Llyn Mymbyr in Snowdonia on April 08, 2020 in Capel Curig, Wales. Rev Elliott is continuing his outdoor tradition of blessing the new fire for the 14th year. Without his parishioners to accompany him due to the coronavirus lockdown he has filmed various outdoor ceremonies which will be broadcast online for his flock to celebrate Easter. Reverend Elliott's Service of Light for Easter Eve normally begins with lighting a fire at a rural location, candles are then lit from the flames and in procession taken to the church to bathe it in the new light. Rev Elliott is regarded as a pioneer of outdoor worship and speaks on ecological issues for the Church in Wales. Many religious services are being recorded or live-streamed after the government banned large gatherings as part of its lockdown measures to halt the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
