Hundreds of devotees and riot police clashed when devotees started procession of Rato Machindranath chariot amid coronavirus pandemic lockdown. The Rato Machhindranath festival, which pays homage to the rain diety of the same name, features a procession with a 32-foot high wooden chariot, has been suspended more than a month ago due to the coronavirus pandemic. Previously, thousands of Hindus and Buddhists community celebrated the Ratomachindranath festival by pulling the chariot all over the valley for a month.
