The Chengdu Qiyi City Forest Garden project was launched in 2018. Residents were promised a modern eco-paradise and specially-designed balconies for growing plants. According to the project’s estate agent all apartments were sold out by April 2020. Plants have, however, overgrown as tenants refused to move in after finding out that the plants attracted thousands of mosquitos.
