According to reports there are approximately five million people falling into the category of having some form of disability in Pakistan. The International Day of Disabled Persons, annually celecrated on 03 December, was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly resolution 47/3 in 1992 and aims to “promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development” as the UN says on its website.
