In Romania, the school year 2021-2022 started on 13 September with physical attendance at classes for approximately 2.9 million students and preschoolers, and with the online presence of 2,400 students from localities affected by the new wave of covid-19. In the context of the increase in the daily number of SARS-CoV-2 infections, measures were taken to protect students' health, parents access to schools was restricted for the first day of school. In the first two months after the start of school, a vaccination campaign will be carried out for children over 12 years old, with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
