Winter Swimming [Oldies]

A member of Icebergs Swimming Club dives in to the pool during the opening day of the winter swimming season at Bondi Icebergs on May 4, 2008 in Sydney, Australia. Bondi Icebergs, which began in 1929, is known as the “Home of Winter Swimming”, and has in excess of 700 dedicated swimmers competing in handicapped races during the winter season, lasting from the first weekend in May to the last weekend in September. The first Sunday in May each year is the official opening of the winter swimming season and members jump in to the pool with blocks of ice. (Photo by Ezra Shaw)
