An undated handout photo made available, 17 August 2021, by the Association of Southeastern Naturalist (ANSE) that shows dead fish and shrimp found in the Mar Menor or Minor sea in Murcia, Spain. Thousands of dead fish were found between 14 and 16 August 2021 in the Minor sea. According to ANSE and WWF the death of these fish has not been the lack of oxygen at that point of the sea as the Regional Government pointed out at first because measurements have shown normal levels in the area. The dead fish have probably been dragged from another area further out at sea. Both ANSE and WWF, consider that the monitoring of the Minor Sea is probably not the right one as measurements of oxygen levels should be made continuously and not only at the shore but also in the deep areas.
