The new Boeing Phantom Eye unmanned drone, designed to stay airborne for days, travels on its first autonomous flight at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, California, on June 1, 2012. The 28-minute flight began at 6:22 a.m. PDT as the liquid-hydrogen powered aircraft lifted off its launch cart.
