Malaysian immigration officers collect evidence during a raid in Semenyih, outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 01 October 2021. Some 297 illegal immigrants living in seven containers were detained in a midnight raid by Malaysian immigration authorities following complaints from nearby residents. “The surrounding residents had complained that there are settlements that are overcrowded, do not comply with hygiene aspects and have the potential to be breeding grounds for dengue”, Immigration Director-General Khairul Zaimee Daud said.
