Ukrainian citizens during the March of Gratitude in Warsaw, Poland 29 May 2022. The March of Gratitude was organized by Ukrainians who came to Poland due to Russia's aggression against their country. The Ukrainians came to the march with flowers, which they handed out to Poles, thanking them for their support in such a difficult time. On 24 February, Russian troops invaded Ukrainian territory starting a conflict that has provoked destruction and a humanitarian crisis. According to the UNHCR, more than 6.5 million refugees are estimated to have fled Ukraine, and a further seven million people estimated to have been displaced internally within Ukraine since.
