A gujjar nomadic member carry grass on her hand as she walks near mud houses in Doodhpathri, a tourist destination and hill station in district Budgam some 40 kilometers from Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, 17 July 2022 (issued 18 July 2022). The nomads live in the dhoks (mud houses) during their half-yearly stay in Kashmir and they leave these dhoks in winter when they move to warmer areas in Jammu region. The nomadic Gujjar and Bakerwal communities annually in summer start their migration towards the upper reaches of Kashmir in search of greener pastures for feeding their cattle. They move along with their baggage on horses and flocks of goats and sheep with ferocious dogs. (Photo by Farooq Khan/EPA/EFE)
