Head Gardener Chris Crowder works to prepare the world's oldest topiary garden in the grounds of Levens Hall, an Elizabethan stately home, near Kendal in north-west England on May 12, 2023. Levens Hall is hosting their 'World Topiary Day' on May 14, 2023 as a celebration of the art of topiary. Topiary is the centuries old skill of shaping and cutting small-leaved trees and bushes into geometric shapes or forms which resemble objects and people.
