The Indian state of Maharashtra is facing a water crisis of unprecedented scale. Severe drought has taken hold over the inland parts of the state over the last few years; river currents have ebbed. A Record number of tankers are the only source of water in large parts of state at present, barely keeping communities heavily reliant on predictable weather patterns for their livelihoods.
