The picture dated June 20, 2023 shows puffins on Skomer Island, off the Pembrokeshire coast in Wales. During breeding season from April to July, Skomer Island is home to the largest colony of puffins in Wales – and one of the largest in the whole of the UK. This year there are an estimated 42,000 individuals, more than ever before, and with plenty of newly-hatched pufflings in the burrows that need regular feeding many puffins are returning to their burrows with sand eels to feed their young.
