A Reduviid or Assassin bug nymph running on the wall in a house with its crazy small dirt-like backpacks which are very rare to see, at Tehatta, West Bengal, India on May 30, 2023. Reduviid nymphs (in subfamilies Salyavatinae, Triatominae, Cetherinae, Reduviinae) found in forests in Southeast Asia region, Camouflage themselves by attaching debris or remains of dead prey insects. Their “backpacks” function helps to deter and camouflage from predators. The Reduviidae are members of the suborder Heteroptera of the order Hemiptera.
