The National Trust have asked Harry Potter fans to stop leaving socks at the memorial for the fictional house elf Dobby at Freshwater West Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This is the beach where the character dies in the arms of Harry Potter in the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and where hundreds of fans come to visit each year and leave trinkets including socks and painted stones which can be a hazard to marine life.
