French tap dancer “Philou” performs a demonstration of Charleston dance during the 13th edition of the “Festival du Merveilleux” (Festival of the Marvelous) in Paris, France, 27 December 2023. The Museum of Fairground Arts gathers the largest private collection dedicated to the show and the fairground art from 1850 to 1930. Since 2009, the museum has been offering different events during the festival to recreate the fun and entertainment of the late 19th and early 20th century. This year's edition of the Festival du Merveilleux, running from 27 December 2023 to 07 January 2024, highlights the link between the Belle Epoque funfair and sporting activities.
