Competitors ride during Stage 4 of the 2024 Cape Epic mountain bike race on March 21, 2024 in the mountains above the town of Wellington. In this stage the competitors race over a distance of 75km, and climb 2500m in height. The Cape Epic, now in it's twentieth edition, in which two riders race as a team, is widely known as the foremost mountain bike stage race in the world, with some of the best riders in the world covering a distance of approximately 617 kilometres, and gaining over 16500m in height, over eight days of racing.
