A nearly 25 foot humpback whale was found dead along the shore of Long Beach Township, New Jersey, early in the morning on April 11, 2024. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center released observations on April 12 from a necropsy done on the juvenile male humpback. The report found bruising around the head, multiple fractures of the skull and cervical vertebrae, numerous dislocated ribs, and a dislocated shoulder bone.
