A Hasidic Jewish pilgrim prays at the Jewish cemetery in the town of Lezajsk, Subcarpathian region, southeastern Poland, on March 31, 2024, marking the 237th anniversary of the death of their 18th century spiritual leader, or tzaddik, Rabbi Elimelech Weisblum. Weisblum was one of the founders of the Hasidic movement, whose aim was to revive Judaism in the 18th century. He gained a reputation as a healer of souls and bodies. Those coming to Lezajsk, mostly from Israel, Europe, the United States and Canada, believe that the tzaddik comes down from heaven on the anniversary of his death and takes their requests to God.
