A rare black-tailed godwit chick in the second decade of May 2024, rescued by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust from a flooded field, an occurrence that is happening more and more often. There are fewer than 50 pairs of British black-tailed godwits left in the wild, according to the trust, and they rely on a handful of wetland sites to breed. (Photo by Georgina Jarman/WWT/PA Wire)
